Petfare canine and feline tasters couldn't get enough of three of Halo's products for pets. The all-natural pet products are part of a holistic approach to wellness designed by company founders Andi and Joel Brown.
"The catnip sent Whiskers into orbit!" our cat owner reported. "When I unlocked the door, I dropped the catnip. Whiskers ripped through the bag and was rolling around in catnip all over the kitchen floor possessed and drooling like mad."
"Pouring Spot's Stew [original chicken recipe] into the bowl, I was surprised that it didn't have that nasty dog/cat food smell. I bent down to smell it, and darn if it didn't smell like stew for people," our dog owner reported. "It even looked like stew -- green beans, carrots and such. Stinky gobbled up about two-thirds of a can and polished the rest of it off later. Buta15-pound dog, and that was a big can of food.
"No bad afteraffects, either, a pleasant surprise. He usually eats dry food, and sometimes when we switch to a different food, he doesn't react well, but he did just fine with this."
Stinky also was volunteered to try Liv-a-Littles Whole Chicken Treats for Dogs & Cats.
"Stinky loves 'em," his owner reports. "He'll do all his tricks for them and gets excited when he sees me pulling them out of the closet. He lays down before I tell him to when he sees them."
Halo products are available nationwide at Vitamin Shoppe. Locally, try Ellwood Thompson's Natural Market. Go to www.halopets.com.
The cost for a ½ ounce of catnip is $5.79, for a 2¾-ounce jar of treats is $9.98 and for a 15-ounce can of stew is $3.19.
