Many people’s pets are like their children. Such owners spare no expense in buying the best food, gear and accessories for their loved ones. And some of these pampered pets become overweight due to inactivity or the grain and other fillers put in some pet foods.
A company named Halo, Purely for Pets, has a line of products for your animal’s health. They take a holistic approach to nutrition, using natural ingredients that are also fit for human consumption. Halo’s philosophy is that nutrition is the single most important factor in the quality of your pet’s life, and with it, good health will follow. Their product line includes:
- Spot’s Stew for Dogs and Spot’s Stew for Cats, a canned dinner that has chicken and/or turkey, chicken liver, vegetables, pasta, oats, barley, kelp, vitamins and minerals.
- Liv-A-Littles, human grade, USDA-approved meat treats for dogs and cats made from freeze-dried meat. They’re available in beef, chicken and fish flavors.
- Dream Coat, a blend of wheat germ, safflower and sunflower oils, soy, garlic and cod liver that works to clean out the animal’s digestive tract, and relieve skin problems such as shedding, itching and scratching. My sister’s dog loved and benefited from it.
- Anitra’s Vita-Mineral Mix, a powdered blend of yeast, wheat bran, lecithin, calcium lactate and montmorillonite clay. It’s a source of trace minerals that helps supply water-soluble vitamins in an easily digestible form.
Halo’s line also includes a selection of herbal supplements, immune system boosters and an interesting product called Hip, Hip, Hooray!! — a drug-free “nutraceutical” supplement for building strong cartilage and promoting joint health. They also sell herbal flea dip, shampoo and ear wash, healing salve and 7th Heaven Natural Catnip, which comes with a refillable cotton-sack play toy.
And if you’re a bird owner, Halo offers Fanta-Seeds, a mixture of clean, unprocessed fruits, vegetables, grains, seeds and nuts. Halo’s line of products is available at Wild Oats and Premium Pet Products in central Arkansas. In the Northwest part of the state, they’re sold at DogWatch Doggie Day Care in Fayetteville and Bentonville, and Ozark Natural Foods Co-op in Fayetteville. Or you can order online at www.halopets.com.
